Cassie Butler
Currently studying BA (Hons) Illustration at the Arts University College in Bournemouth and I will complete my course this July (2011). I specialise in collage and putting imagery together to fit a brief. I enjoy playing with a concept to push it as far/ as little as the imagery will allow me to take it. I enjoy working in a creative atmosphere and creating imagery that provokes emotion and communicates strong composition and aesthetically pleasing visuals.
For my most recent project I concentrated on the process of glamour. Through playing with the idea of visual allurement, I am able to play with different shapes and and colour. Always having contact with the image- piercing, layering, negative space, pulling apart, cutting through, shape is important to my practice as an illustrator, i enjoy making new imagery out of the "leftovers" and "scraps" of the past.
